I am a UKCP-accredited psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a UKCP Recognised Training Supervisor.
Alongside my clinical work, I have developed a long-standing interest in how emotional experience is shaped through relationship, culture, identity, and life transitions.
Many of the people who come to therapy are carrying experiences that have never fully had space to be understood, emotionally processed, or spoken about openly. I see psychotherapy as a place where these inner experiences can gradually become more thinkable, understandable, and less isolating.
My approach
My approach is integrative and transpersonal, grounded in psychodynamic, humanistic, somatic, and relational perspectives.
Alongside talking therapy, we may also work with dreams, imagery, breath, body awareness, symbolic reflection, or creative methods where appropriate to the therapeutic process.
I am interested not only in present difficulties, but also in the deeper emotional patterns, relational experiences, and internal dynamics that shape how we come to experience ourselves and others over time.
Therapy can support a greater sense of emotional clarity, resilience, self-understanding, and internal grounding.
Cross-cultural and identity experience
I have a particular interest in cross-cultural identity, belonging, and the emotional impact of living between languages, expectations, and cultural worlds.
I am of Chinese origin and have lived and worked across China and the UK. This background informs my sensitivity to the complexities of identity, migration, family expectations, and the often unspoken emotional negotiations involved in moving between cultural contexts.
I work with people navigating these questions in many different forms, including those who may not initially identify their experience as “cross-cultural”, but who feel a sense of internal division, displacement, or adaptation.
Professional background
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked across a range of professional fields including translation, marketing, accounting, consulting, executive coaching, auditing, and UK–China trade negotiation.
These experiences continue to inform my understanding of professional pressure, responsibility, adaptation, and the emotional demands that can arise within different working and cultural environments.
Supervision and teaching
Alongside my clinical practice, I am a UKCP Recognised Training Supervisor (RTS), providing supervision for trainee and qualified therapists.
I also contribute to training at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE).
